Lanark County OPP and Lanark County Crime Stoppers are seeking help from the public to locate and apprehend the people responsible for allegedly doing doughnuts and burnouts and driving at high rates of speed around Carleton Place High School, Lake Avenue West, Riverside Park and Carleton Place Canoe Club.
The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking assistance from the public.
Police say they are searching for the people and vehicles said to be “continuing to drive in a reckless and dangerous manner” at various times of the day and night around Carleton Place High School, Lake Avenue West, Riverside Park and Carleton Place Canoe Club.
“These vehicles have been reported to have been doing burnouts (laying rubber), doing doughnuts and driving at high rates of speed,” the OPP said. “This conduct poses a serious risk to public and driver safety.”

The OPP added that, “police do conduct patrols; however, with today’s technology and communications resources, the vehicles can be gone from the area by the time police arrive.”
OPP and Lanark County Crime Stoppers (LCCS) are seeking help from the public to locate and apprehend the people responsible.
Anyone with information on this or any other crime can call LCCS anonymously at the toll-free number 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477). All calls to LCCS are confidential and not recorded.
LCCS offers a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest, the recovery of stolen property and the seizure of illicit drugs or substances. Callers are not required to reveal their identity, and they do not have to testify in court. LCCS does not subscribe to call display/caller ID. Anonymity is assured through the assignment of a confidential number.
